Victory in the desert

A man with his personal firearm stands watching a crowd of rebels as they celebrate victory near Brega University. A day-long battle with pro-Gaddafi forces who assaulted Brega, a key oil town, resulted in 11 dead and at least twice that number wounded. The attack appeared to be a probing effort by troops driving jeeps with mounted machine guns.
