Islamic State Scorched Earth Policy, Kobane Canton-Syria, May 2015
Retreating Islamic State fighters implement a scorched earth policy, burning crops in the autonomous Kobani Canton, in the face of advancing YPG and FSA forces. The featured photograph is said to have been taken 60 km south east of Kobani, around the villages of Minjuke, Koshkar, Shewiti, Shesh and Kourek.
