Mapuche Protest

Protest staged by the Mapuche community of Chile against the government in Santiago, Chile, 2005. Following restitution of democracy, the Mapuche community has been active in demanding greater rights particularly over land they feel was taken from them by the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet.
The banner reads:
"Patricia Troncoso on a hunger strike
Matias Katrileo killed by the
bullets of the Chilean state!!"
