A deadly earthquake struck Nepal, including the capital city of Kathmandu, on April 25, 2015. Moment Magnitude (Mw) has been estimated at 7.8 or 8.1Ms. Casualties are still being assessed, and the United Nations is describing the event as a major humanitarian disaster.
