Our Archive search bar allows users to isolate the subjects they are interested in and examine them according to their preferences. The search bar works best with our auto-fill fixed tags. View All Tags Here). Users may enter search terms in quotation marks for specific word results.
Full viewing options can be accessed below the search bar. They should be used to sort out search results after they have already been entered.
- The General tab gives options for viewing the images you have selected: the Thumbnail view is the most minimal on details and is the fastest to skim through. The Details view is the default and provides the image with its caption to the right, and is useful for quick chronological research. The Gallery view is a full-screen viewing option for your search results. The General tab is also where you would enable graphic images to appear in your search results.
- The Sort by tab is where you determine the ordering of your photograph selection by the Date Taken, the Date Uploaded or by Name (alphabetical order).
- The Date Taken tab provides various date isolation options for your photos.
- If you are researching a Topic or Event and wish to isolate it by region, select your desired area in the Region tab.
- The License tab allows you to isolate search results based on the Creative Commons License which you wish to access and is relevant if you want to reuse work you find on Konflictcam.
- The Importance tab allows users to isolate photographs based on User Impressions ratings.
- You can Clear your criteria on the last tab.
We have placed buttons for Konflictcam's ten main topics at the bottom of the Archive Page for ease of use.

A large wildfire beginning at the start of May (and still) burning in Alberta, Canada, captured by the Enhanced Thematic Mapper Plus on the Landsat 7 satellite, showing areas of active fires in red, smoke in white and burned areas in brown. It has destroyed approx.2,400 homes and buildings and has resulted in the largest wildfire evacuation in Albertan history.

Hundreds protest in Toronto over Israeli action in Gaza

Hundreds gathered in Toronto to protest the Israeli military action in Gaza. The protests were on the second day of an Israeli ground offensive that pushed the death toll in Gaza to over 330 people. The protests in Toronto were held across from the Israeli Consulate. The crowd gathered in front of the Royal Ontario Museum with signs like “Gaza needs more than our prayers.”

British Columbia Forests Attacked by the Pine Beetle, Canada, 2013

The Canadian Forest Service calls it "the largest known insect infestation in North American history." According to a forest officer in Quesnel, British Columbia, observations of the pine beetle have shown that it has been acting more aggressively than ever before: "They are attacking younger [and stronger] trees, and attacking timber in altitudes they have never been before."

Astronauts aboard the International Space Station took this digital photograph of the eye of Hurricane Igor at 10:56 Atlantic Daylight Time (13:56 UTC) on September 14, 2010. The storm was a category four hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson scale of intensity. At the time of the image, Igor was centered in the Atlantic Ocean near 18° N 52° W and slowly moving west-northwest at 11 kilometers (7 miles) per hour, according to the U.S. National Hurricane Center. Maximum sustained winds of 213 km (132 mi.) per hour, with gusts to 259 km (161 mi.) per hour.

Image shows a pro-Chinese protest organised Chinese nationals dwelling in Canada. Signs held by protestors convey of message against what they perceive as Western media bias and a unrealistic portray of the situation in Tibet. This occurred at the 2008 Olympic Torch Relay, 2008 being the year Beijing hosted the Games. The protest was likely a response to the usage of the relay by protestors in Paris, London, San Francisco, New Delhi, Islamabad, and Jakarta, Soeul and more to campaign for a free Tibet.

Syncrude Base Mine in Athabasca, Alberta, 2006

This is a picture of Syncrude's base mine. The yellow structures are the bases of pyramids made of sulphur - it is not economical for Syncrude to sell the sulphur so it stockpiles it instead. Behind that is the tailings pond, held in by what is recognized as the largest dam in the world. The extraction plant is just to the right of this photograph and most of the mine is to the left.
